Cheryl Henry and Andy Atkinson August 1990

I posted this to WS today. One of the posters is the step sister of Cheryl. This case seems to have the potential to be like the earons case. A criminal who sometimes rapes and then sometimes murders. The idea that Cheryl Henry was killed first and then Andy seems important as well. Why would the killer want Andy to suffer that much more? Why would he take the risk that Andy might have escaped while he was focused on Cheryl?

"I am curious how many other dancers are claiming to have been raped by this man. I would think by this time LE would have made public some kind of list of other crimes they feel connected to this one. And If some of the rapes happened AFTER the murders. I am guessing that Garland wasnt working at GiGi's at the time of the murders, but were any of his coworkers reporting rapes? Does Garland come on this site as well? Does anyone have info about the rape victim's boyfriend Randy? It seems strange for a rapist to mention him by name. Did Randy live at the address? If I am understanding this right, the composite wasnt drawn until 2008? And the rapist had some kind of fishnet stocking over his head? How accurate do people think the composite is? Being that Rte 6 heads straight out of Houston and through Sugarland, have they checked there to see about other crimes as well?

This would have been Andy's Grandfather? I have read allot about the MacDonald case.

Have you found anything about the lover's lane murders in Virginia that this crime might have been copying? It seems really strange that someone would move from that general area and then be killed in a possible copycat of the other crimes.

Do you mind if I post this article to the WS page and ask if anyone has looked into this? Or do you want to do it?

Wow.

My first thought on the cocaine arrest is that someone was trying to get to Senator Scarsborough through his kids.  In 1977, there just were not many arrests for cocaine trafficking.  I realize Texas has always been tough on drugs but 1977 was years before "just say no".  Plus, the media got that picture of both kids and the Senator to publish.  That smells set up to me.  He must have been making someone very angry.

I checked Newspapers.com for VA Lover's Lane murders and have not found anything either.

This is from 1971 but it is specifically a Lover's Lane murder and they hint that it might be related to a motorcycle gang ritual.

I think the Smith beach one I found where they killed a Nam Vet and raped the girlfriend is one we should note, his name was Peter Sebastionelli and going AWOL might have upset some folk. Sleeping bags again.

I enjoyed this thread. I am not sure how I found it but I am a member of Andy and Garlands family in North Carolina. Andy was my husbands cousin by birth but more of a brother growing up ... they were 18 months apart and inseparable. i will share this site with Garland today when I talk to him. I am including a youtube link also that is the latest interview with Garland on where the case of Cheryl & Andy is as of right now. I will just speak on behalf of our family as I am not in touch with Cheryl's family like Garland is ....... our family is desperately wanting answers on this case as you can imagine. August will be 29 years since Cheryl & Andy were murdered. Garland and other family members are reaching out to the public for your support and help. Our family wants transparency from the Houston PD and answers on why the DNA in this case has not been sent for further genetic genealogical testing. Thank you for your coverage! Please spread the word about Andy & Cheryls case! The Houston PD is denying us the right to have this case sent to Parabon and CeeCee Moore. She was recently asked if there was any cold case she would like to work and one was Andy and Cheryls! We are coming up this month on 31 years! For all of you that have a passion for True Crime please spread the word and help us get coverage on this case so that the Houston PD is held accountable! Andy is my family and Cheryls family and ours needs Justice!
