CA AB584 1965 Would make home invasion rape conviction life

I found this article today that is about AB 584 in a 1965 news paper.  It would have made rape during a home invasion punishable by life in prison without parole. 

While I do think that home invasions and rape are serious crimes, I don't think they are in the same category as murder. 

I'm glad the legislature had the good sense not to pass this bill.

You can still get life in the UK for rape, it's rare but it's possible.
